Shortbread cookies are quintessential treats in any serious afternoon tea, and ours come with an unexpected twist. We honor the traditional Scottish recipe with a lovely surprise: Sichuan peppercorns. The result is bites of buttery goodness with tingling flowery spice notes as the cookie melts on your tongue.
Like the olden days, the recipe contains no artificial additives and are baked to order – a true luxury in modern times. The delicate warmth and citrusy notes of Sichuan complement any tea, though we're particularly fond of pairing these with our lineup of black teas.
Our classic Butter Shortbread was featured in New York Magazine as one of the best comfort foods in 2020. We haven't changed the recipe, just added a bit of zing for more holiday spirit!

Storage
Sichuan Shortbread will remain fresh at room temperature for 2 weeks from the packing date, or they can be stored up to 3 weeks refrigerated or 2 months in the freezer.
