Shortbread cookies are the quintessential treat in any serious afternoon tea. It is crumbly, buttery and just a tad sweet, rounding out any jitters from too much caffeine.
This Scottish tea biscuit has an origin that traced back to the Medieval times. Shortbread was made with butter, an expensive ingredient, and therefore reserved as a luxury treat. Historically, it was served only during special occasions - Christmas, New Year's Eve and weddings.
We believe in the simplicity of the shortbread, made with only 4 (good) ingredients: unbleached flour, French butter for higher fat content, organic cane sugar and sea salt. Like the olden days, they contain no artificial additives and are baked to order, a true luxury in modern times.
