Getting to know the Ox
The lunar new year is usually a time of celebration–a whole week is usually designated for festivities in fact. That’s gone out the window for 2021, but it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the lunar new year at all. Think of it like this: now, you don’t have to worry about cooking what everyone else wants to eat or eating too much of your favorite dish. It’s a win-win.
Although we know that all any of us really care about is our own Zodiac animals, it’s worth expanding our horizons to learn about the others, too. 2021 is the year of the Bull -- or Ox, the second animal in the 12-year zodiac cycle. After the Rat though? Suspect, we know. So the story goes, the emperor held a party and told the animals that the order in which they arrived would be the order they appeared in the zodiac, so the Rat persuaded the Bull to give it a ride and, at the last moment, jump in front of the Bull to arrive first. Crafty, no? Yet even with that history the two animals seem to get along nonetheless–the Rat is one of the best matches for the Bull. Check out some more of the hallmark traits and famous figures born in the year of the Bull.

Personality Traits
Bulls are diligent, hard workers. They find success through logical thinking and dependability, even if they initially try to hide their strengths. Bulls are low maintenance and rarely seek out attention and praise, and their patience and kindness usually draws people in. As rule-followers, Bulls sometimes impose their own boundaries on others. Bulls tend to have strong convictions, but since they’re bad communicators that confidence can come off as arrogance. Once a Bull commits to a plan they are single-minded in achieving it, even if it leads to difficulties along the way.
