Pineapple Cake with salted egg yolk is a specialty pastry found in traditional bakeries throughout Taiwan. Locals love the sweet and savory combo. This classic treat combines the sweetness of pineapple with the rich and savory bites of salted duck egg yolk, all wrapped up in a soft buttery short crust. As with all our pastries, these cakes are made to order with no artificial preservatives. We recommend refrigeration upon receipt to ensure optimal freshness and flavor.

The word pineapple shares the same phonetic sound as the word prosperity in local Taiwanese or Chinese Hokkien dialect, making this delicious treat the perfect food gift for well wishes and abundance.

For the perfect pairing, we recommend enjoying these buttery pastry alongside our Frozen Summit or Mount Ali oolong. The nuttiness of the roasted oolong teas beautifully complements the buttery pastry and the richness of the salted egg.

Storage

Pineapple cakes with salted egg yolk will remain fresh at room temperature for 15 days from the packing date, or they can be stored up to 4 weeks refrigerated or 2 months in the freezer. We are not responsible for delays in shipping once the package has been transferred to the carrier.
